Sabatier Trompette is a traditional brand of which the design originates back to the early 18th century in Thiers, the home of kitchen knives in France. About the brand

Since 1874, Sabatier Trompette has built a reputation on its outstanding cutting performance. The brand guarantees high quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, based on both traditional and modern technology. Focusing on form and function, we use highly sophisticated materials to produce extremely reliable and functional knives for both professional and home chefs.

As a member of the Association for the Protection of the Sabatier Brand, we only develop products in compliance with Sabatier standards. The knives are crafted from Molybdenum Vanadium stainless steel, which provides excellent strength, hardness, and sharpness, making them corrosion-resistant and ensuring a long life expectancy. The back of the blades are rounded, for better comfort in use. During the sharpening process, the edge of the blade is polished with leather, giving it a razor-like cutting performance.

History

Early 19th century

The rise of the cutlery trade in Thiers, France. The name Sabatier is becoming prominent, although use of the name by multiple knife makers leads to confusion and the need to create specific brand names.

1874

The use of the “La Trompette” brand began in 1874.

1978

In 1978, the Sabatier Trompette brand was sold to the Couzon/Cuisinox group.

2005

In 2005, the brand became part of the Amefa Group, with the acquisition of the Couzon/Cuisinox company.
