Amefa understands the significance of social responsibility. For over a decade, we have been a proud member of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (Amfori BSCI). All our products are made in BSCI certified factories. To drive environmental improvements in our business activities we also became a member of Business Environmental Performance Initiative (Amfori BEPI).
Our product development team has made environmental sustainability a priority and constantly strives to create more sustainable alternatives for existing products. A great example of this are our product ranges called Slim and Leaves, products that were developed as an alternative to disposable plastic cutlery. We will continuously challenge ourselves to develop sustainable products and packaging solutions.
Amefa is also committed to make all our packaging as environmentally friendly as possible, by reducing the amount of plastic wherever we can. Amefa is already saving millions of plastic poly bags, rubber bands and pvc-tapes by replacing those with paper and cardboard packaging solutions.
Most of our products are made of high-quality stainless steel, which is not only an approved food contact material and 100% safe, but also has the benefit of being fully recyclable at the end of its life cycle.
Amefa has calculated the Group’s first carbon footprint for the calendar year 2023. We will measure this on an ongoing basis to monitor the effectiveness of our reduction efforts and do our part to fight climate change.
